Xi Van Fleet was born in China, lived through the Cultural Revolution, and was sent to work in the countryside at the age of 16. After Mao's death, she was able to go to college to study English and has lived in the United States since 1986. In 2021, she delivered a school board speech in Loudoun County, Virginia, against Critical Race Theory that went viral and ignited national media attention. She now devotes her time and energy full time to warning about the dangers of communism. Since going public with her message, Xi Van Fleet has appeared on Fox News, Newsmax, and radio shows and podcasts across the country. She is the author of Mao's America. Yu Jie is a well-known dissident from China. Writing is both Yu Jie's profession and his calling. He has authored over 90 books-totaling 15 million Chinese characters-across a wide range of subjects. His mission is to wield the power of words against Marxist-Leninist-Maoist-Xiist totalitarianism and to challenge Western leftist ideology, while advancing American conservative political philosophy within the Chinese-speaking world. Now based in the D.C. area, he founded the Asia-Pacific Institute for Religious Freedom and Democratization. In 2018, he became a U.S. citizen.
""While every day, more Americans understand the true nature of the Chinese Communist Party, the role that American business and political elites have played in enabling the rise of the CCP has been under appreciated. Now Xi Van Fleet and Yu Jie document in these pages how this was a conscious strategy designed by the CCP to nurture American dependence. They provide an important account, supported by their first-hand experiences with the CCP, and they convincingly argue that the frontline of America's systemic rivalry with the Chinese Communist Party is not in some distant country, but right here at home.--John Moolenaar, Congressman, Chair of Select Committee on the CCP ""Both Xi Van Fleet and I came from Chengdu, Sichuan Province of China, yet we found each other here in America, united in the fight against communism and in sounding the alarm to the American people. Her new book Made in America is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand a vital but hidden history--how America's failure to grasp communism has led us to this moment, confronting the greatest threat in our nation's history: Communist China.""--Lily Tang Williams, Republican Congressional Candidate and Anti-Communist Freedom Advocate ""Communism remains a grave threat to American freedom. Xi Van Fleet, who survived Mao's Cultural Revolution, understands this firsthand. This fearless book lays out the history we overlooked and a warning that Communist tactics are resurfacing here at home. Clear and courageous."" --Dr. Ben Carson, Founder and Chairman of the American Cornerstone Institute ""Since the CCP's founding in 1921 and Communist China's in 1949, the United States has repeatedly misjudged both. In Made in America, Xi Van Fleet and Yu Jie reveal how America's misjudgment enabled China's rise--and how the same Marxist ideology that once destroyed China is now taking root in the United States. Americans must heed their warning before it's too late.""--Chen Guangcheng, Chinese Human Rights Activist and 2020 RNC Speaker ""What is the greatest mistake in America's history? That is Washington's rescue and support of China's Communist Party. This could also be our country's last mistake. Xi Van Fleet and Yu Jie explain all this in their critically important Made in America.""--Gordon Chang, Author, and China Analyst
