Growing up in the Philippines, Dolores D. Burns, formerly Dolores D. Bennett, wrote articles about whatever inspired her to reflect or made her laugh. When she retired from teaching GED classes in 2019, she was scheduled to go to Spain as a missionary, but Covid -19 canceled her plan. While quarantined, she wrote her biography, His Hand on Me, which was published in 2020. In 2021, she began writing children's books and published The Big Black Feather, The Wise Hen, The Hen's Dream, Cutita and Vaquita, PupPup the Bully, Stories of Boogie's Friends and Si Askal ang Sigang Aso. In 2022, She published The Rock, The Sky is So High and A Surprise Reward. In 2023, she published Spike and Spike.
