"Earl R. Phelps was born in Macon, GA, and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. As a self-taught artist, he started drawing at the age five in Kindergarten class. His first published book was ""How To Draw Your Own Supercharacters"". He was one of the first to sell and advertise these types of books on drawing Superheroes in both Marvel and DC comics back in the 1980s. With over 40 years of experience Earl has authored several books since then. Some of his bestselling books include ""How To Draw Supercharacters and Supermonsters"" and ""How To Draw Magnificent Mammals""."
