Tim Armstrong, KC, O. Ont., born and raised in Toronto, is a graduate of UTS, Victoria College (University of Toronto), and Osgoode Hall Law School. Following a successful legal practice, he was appointed Ontario's Deputy Minister of Labour, a post he held for ten years before being named Ontario's Agent General for the Asia-Pacific region. Upon his return to Canada, he resumed his work at Queen's Park as Deputy Minister of Industry, Trade, and Technology. Retiring from public service, he continued to be active in his legal practice and to receive a number of important governmental assignments. He is the recipient of the Klaus Woerner Hall of Fame Award, the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Award, and the Order of Ontario, Ontario's highest civilian honour. Now retired, he lives with his wife, Betty, in Toronto.
