Acclaimed picture book author Rory Mathers writes whimsical stories from his family home in Toowoomba. With a career in storytelling inspired by a childhood at sea, library work and a passion for reading, Rory's books include Vlad's Bad Breath, Roary the Lion, Monster School Rules and Sloths Love Parties. Rory hopes his stories can encourage children who have trouble reading, as he once did, to pick up a book and give it a go. Brent Wilson is a Brisbane-based illustrator with a style he describes as 'contemporary, but with a retro aesthetic'. His bold, colourful illustrations can be found in picture books, magazines and advertising campaigns alike. Wilson's debut in children's book illustration was the acclaimed Koalas Like To..., a finalist in the 2021 ABDA Awards for Best Designed Children's Illustrated Book. Wilson's charming characters also leap off the pages of Pauline Deeves' Get Me Out of Here! Foolish and Fearless Convict Escapes and Trent Jamieson's Mr Impoppable.
