Breanna Teintze is a registered nurse, who writes (well) and gardens (badly). She lives in Idaho with her husband, where she homeschools her three kids and polishes swords. Her first novel, Lord of Secrets, published by Jo Fletcher Books, was followed by the sequel, Lady of Shadows.
Teintze excels at building a fantasy world governed by an original system of magic, and thrills the reader with an enjoyable, breakneck plot - Guardian The number one best thing about Breanna Teintze's books is voice. Her voice, the characters' voice, it's fantastic and never contrived. Her characterization is great. I even liked the bad guys! Teintze shows a range of skill in Lady of Shadows by making a fantastical whodunit, with twists that keep you pulling toward the finale. She delves deeper in the magic and politics as well; they're very well thought out and intriguing - Charlie N. Holmberg, author of The Paper Magician The author has an exceptional ability to create fabulous deep three-dimensional complicated characters. An excellent sequel to Lord of Secrets, [but] could easily be enjoyed as a stand-alone. I loved it and would encourage anyone to read Breanna Teintze's work - Storgy (I should note here that the magical plague is not at all like the real plague we are dealing with right now, and I don't think it will be the least bit triggering. It is very magical and very, very different.) The thing about Breanna's books is that they have heart, they have plot, but they also have just a ridiculous amount of fun packed in. Gray is the kind of reluctant hero wizard with a heart that I'd follow into the apocalypse and Lady of Shadows delivers just that - and more.
