Highly-awarded composer, pianist, and music educator, Margaret Brandman's career in music spans more than 50 years. As a successful and innovative composer, she has combined her compositional interests with her interest in accelerated learning techniques for music. Margaret is a fully represented composer at the Australian Music Centre. She has composed an extensive range of works for a variety of ensembles, ranging from full orchestra, to intimate chamber works for piano, voice, and a range of instrumental combinations. These works receive international performances and recordings. She is represented by Parma Recordings, Ambition Records, ModernClassicalX, and Furore Music. In addition to her compositional output, Margaret has written and published many music education materials in her contemporary series of education materials. These range from books for junior students to text books for high school and tertiary study. Her investigation of keyboard topography, musical patterns, and the gestalt approach to fingering of the scales, is published in Pictorial Patterns for Keyboard Scales and Chords. With over 100 published books and compositions, much of her time is spent composing, performing concerts of her compositions both in Australia and internationally, and presenting master classes on music education.
