Albert Gentleman is a Canadian-born writer and cultural thinker now based in Western Australia. His life has been one of exploration, resilience, and transformation. Raised Catholic and leaving home at sixteen, Albert developed a deep curiosity about the natural and spiritual worlds. In his twenties, he and his wife built a hobby farm in the Canadian Rockies before dedicating themselves to and community development work overseas.Over the next fourteen years, they lived and worked in six Asian countries, immersing themselves in diverse cultures and engaging with people across faiths and traditions. These cross-cultural experiences, combined with extensive study and reflection, eventually led Albert to step away from Christianity in 2013 and embrace a broader, more inclusive spirituality. His book, Kairos, is the fruit of that journey, presenting a vision of universal values such as love, wisdom, compassion, truth, and kindness, which he calls Commonalities. Central to his work is the concept of the Precious Spirit, a universal presence embodying Love, Light, Life, Nature, and the Fruit of the Spirit. These ideas are offered not as dogma, but as pathways for connection across cultural, spiritual, and even non-spiritual divides. Now retired from international work, Albert is active as a gardener, conservationist, archer and writer. His passion is fostering respect, compassion, and unity in a world too often divided by creed or culture. Kairos weaves together his lived experiences, research, and evolving spiritual reflections into a framework that invites readers to embrace both freedom and responsibility in living ethically and consciously.
