As a teacher, choreographer, and Artistic Director of DNE School of Dance, Mandra has shared her passion for dance and the performing arts for over twenty years. She embraces the art of writing with the same drive and energy, taking the craft of storytelling from the stage to the written page. Her social work background uniquely positioned her to manage her family's medical journey. She was able to assess, advocate and navigate complicated health care systems. Her hope is that Just Another Love Story will inform and inspire patients and medical staff alike. Mandra lives a quiet life in her home along a river in northern MA with her adventurous husband, precocious son, and slightly neurotic dog. They live in a ""family compound"" surrounded by relatives, much the way she grew up, and is grateful for the health and wellness they wake up with every day.
""Mandra Biscornet's memoir Just Another Love Story, is a tender story of a young couple's journey to establish their identity and navigate the path of medical crises. Mandra's grit, humor, love and honesty made me fall in love with her--and her tightly knit extended family--from page one of the Introduction! This story will resonate no matter your stage in life and situation, and would be an especially supportive book for those seeking hope and resilience in the face of serious illness."" -Lisa Tener, Gold Nautilus Award-winning author of Breathe.
