While serving a three-year term as a School Governor in South East London, S.L. Wilks found the inspiration for this book. Surrounded by a city alive with diversity and culture, the author set out to create characters that embody inclusivity and hope. The stories aim to give a voice to those who have felt unheard or believed their dreams were out of reach. Mark Beech is a freelance illustrator. He was born in Pendle, Lancashire and loved drawing from an early age. After leaving school Mark went on to study design and fashion at the University of Reading where he decided he would pursue a career in illustration. Mark has illustrated books by many well-known authors including Terry Pratchett, Jacqueline Wilson, Siobhan Rowden and Enid Blyton.
