The stories shared here not only highlight the educational role of libraries but also underscore their potential to serve as sites of curiosity, wonder, and personal transformation, I hope that these accounts will motivate parapsychologists and their colleagues to undertake studies that will lead to a richer understanding of both the mysterious and the everyday magic found within our libraries. -- Stanley Krippner, PhD, Author of A Chaotic Life, Research Professor at California Institute for Human Science, USA Block’s refreshing and expansive take on the inherent paranormality of libraries is a globe-spanning adventure into these haunted “third spaces” of society. Whether you wish to dip your toes into the mystery of these seemingly mundane places or take a deeper dive into them, this volume offers up something to entertain, educate, or enthrall. Ultimately, Inside the World's Haunted Libraries reflects not only on what makes spaces ""out there"" haunted, but on what haunts our collective minds as well. -- David S. B. Mitchell, Assistant Professor of Integral Transpersonal Psychology at California Institute of Integral Studies, USA In many ways, a book is a literary ghost… the after-echoes of thoughts, dreams, and beliefs of those long since dead. Small wonder that many libraries have ghosts of their own, drifting among the stacks and shelves, phantom reminders of days long gone. There can be no better guide to the world’s haunted libraries than Courtney Block. Within these pages she will convince you that, in the realm of the paranormal, the truth usually is far stranger than fiction. -- Richard Estep, Author of The Horrors of Fox Hollow Farm & co-presenter of TV’s Haunted Hospitals. This book is an exceptional addition to the literature about haunted places. I love libraries, places filled with knowledge and imagination. That our ghostly acquaintances might also find such places attractive makes so much sense. After all, I’ve been known to 'haunt' a library from time to time! Every paranormal enthusiast needs this book! -- Loyd Auerbach, M.S., President of the Rhine Research Center Board of Directors and Director of the Office of Paranormal Investigations; Author of A Paranormal Casebook: Cases from a Parapsychologist’s First 25 (or So Years)
