Entomologist and zoologist Dr Ross Piper has been fascinated by insects for as long he can remember. Always eager to scrabble around in the undergrowth and root around in rotting logs, his work has taken him around the world and resulted in a new genus and several new species. Eager to share his enthusiasm for the natural world, Piper has presented at various international events, written numerous books and articles, and contributed to TV programmes for the BBC and the Smithsonian Institution, both as an on-screen expert and a consultant.
