Dr. Molefi Kete Asante is an internationally recognized scholar, the originator of Afrocentricity, and the founding chair of the first doctoral program in African American Studies at Temple University. Author of over 100 books, Asante is widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in African-centered thought. His work focuses on African agency, cultural memory, and the centrality of African people in the production of knowledge. He is the founder of the Journal of Black Studies and president of the Molefi Kete Asante Institute for Afrocentric Studies.
