Cognitive functions of the brain are contributed by the neuro-physiological edifice of the brain. On receiving a stimulus from the environment, the response is

Cognition is a complex system that interrelates the functionalities of language, attention, perception, psychomotor skills, memory, and executive function. Dementia is a clinical syndrome that is acquired, and the patient experiences deterioration from the previous functionalities in at least one of the following areas - language, visuospatial skills, executive abilities, and emotion. Dementia affects elder people but it not a result of the process of normal aging. The variants of dementia are Alzheimer's Disease, Vascular Dementia, mixed dementia, Lewy Bodies Dementia, Pronto Temporal Dementia.
