""Controversy and rumors have shadowed the name of Rabbi Jonathan Eibeschuetz, from his latter years to the present. The outrageous reality behind the scandal has not been presented to the general public until now. As a recognized Kabbalah scholar with a fine literary sense, David Halperin is uniquely qualified to present Eibeschuetz's secret oeuvre to the world, in this testament from an irruptive and transitional time."" --Pinchas Giller, Chair, Jewish Studies Department, American Jewish University ""For too long, Jews were not supposed to know the writings of the brilliant and provocative Rabbi Jonathan Eibeschuetz, long considered a frightful heretic. Thanks to David Halperin's superb translation and introduction, we now have access to this daring, fascinating rabbi. The book is a delicious experience of outrageous yet seductive ideas that are thrilling to read."" --Susannah Heschel, Eli M. Black Distinguished Professor, Dartmouth College
