Joyce Markovics has written over 500 nonfiction children’s books—or at least two giraffe-sized stacks. She’s wild about insects, especially the more unusual ones, such as Brazilian treehoppers with their helicopter-like helmets. Telling stories is one of Joyce’s greatest passions, and few things are more fascinating to her than the natural world. She lives in historic Ossining, New York, with her favorite human.
""There's a hidden world out there filled with bugs that have a lot to say! Talking Insects profiles some of these chatty creatures and provides just the right balance of facts, pictures, and funnies to make the book a delightful read."" --Dr. Carol Miles, Associate Professor and Undergraduate Studies Director, Department of Biological Sciences, Binghamton University
