An Early Years Gymnastics Class in a Story!

Hubert's Fairground Adventure is a joyful, action packed story designed to get young children moving, learning and having fun. Join Hubert the bear as he visits the Fairground and explores the rides, games and surprises at every turn. But this isn't just a story - hidden within the pages are exercises which help to promote strength, coordination and flexibility. As the adventure unfolds, Hubert comes across a ride that he feels is just a little too high, challenging his confidence and testing his courage/ With gentle encouragement from his Pops, he finds the bravery to face his fear, offering young readers a heart warming lesson in self belief and resilience.

Created by qualified gymnastics coaches, this imaginative tale is part of an innovative Early Years gymnastics award scheme, offering an alternative channel in which to deliver the content. Whether this is delivered in an educational setting or at home, children will love following Hubert's Journey while actively participating in the adventure through movement and play. The book also includes a catchy companion song, making it a fully immersive experience and providing a full minute workout for little learners.

Some elements of the story suggest using basic gymnastics equipment if available, but it's just as engaging with a little creative improvisation, like pretending to walk along a beam. A small soft toy is also needed to join Hubert on the adventure!

Perfect for parents, educators and coaches, Hubert's Gymnastics Adventures - Fairground, blends storytelling with physical development to support a child's body and mind.

* Younger children may need to have the story broken down into smaller parts.)

With over 30 years of experience as a qualified preschool and gymnastics coach, Sophie Ince has dedicated her career to helping children grow in confidence, coordination and creativity. She currently runs a thriving recreational gymnastics club for children of all ages, where the focus is on fun, inclusion and celebrating every child's individual achievements, no matter their ability. A lifelong lover of storytelling and song writing, Sophie was inspired to combine her passions to create Hubert's Gymnastics Adventures, a playful and purposeful series designed to take young children on imaginative journeys that support their physical development. Through hidden actions and the memorable melodies written by Sophie, the stories aim to bring joy, movement and a sense of accomplishment to every little reader. The author is a qualified gymnastics coach with a professional background in marketing strategy. A lifelong love of storytelling and poetry has always run alongside her career, and after completing a creative writing course, she felt inspired to share her creativity with a wider audience. The idea for the Hubert's Gymnastics Adventures series was born during a deeply challenging time, spending long hours in hospital waiting rooms as her daughter underwent treatment for a brain tumour. Her daughter, then a university undergraduate student of Film and English, played a pivotal role in shaping the story's structure and was instrumental in developing the main plot. Sharing the middle name Louise, the pair chose to publish under a name that represents them both, capturing the collaborative spirit and emotional bond behind the book. Writing became a meaningful outlet, allowing them to combine their passion for movement, imagination, and emotional resilience into a story that supports children's physical and emotional development. With Hubert's Gymnastics Adventures - Fairground, they also hope to offer a gentle tool for adults to connect with their children, encouraging communication that uplifts and nurtures confidence. Hannah Payne is a qualified gymnastics coach with a degree in Sports Science and a lifetime passion for movement. A former elite gymnast, she now runs a recreational gymnastics club and works in multiple pre schools, helping young children build confidence and physical skills from the very start of their journeys.Hannah helped develop the idea for Hubert's Gymnastics Adventures after recognising how little was available to support Early Years gymnastics in a fun, accessible way. She is passionate about keeping children active and believes movement should be joyful, engaging and part of every child's life.

Reviews for Hubert's Gymnastics Adventures - Fairground: With Hidden Actions to help Build Strength and Coordination

""This book is absolutely brilliant. As a primary school teacher always on the lookout for new ways of learning, Hubert's Gymnastics Adventure: Fairground has been a complete gamechanger in my classroom. Having followed boring lesson plans for too long, we now follow Hubert's songs which can be accessed via a QR code which is on the book. The songs basically guide all the movement for the lessons whilst keeping the children engaged. It's rare to find a resource that is educational, engaging and genuinely enjoyable for both children and teachers. (We do have to pause the music sometimes to get everyone in position even though there are long instrumental pauses for each activity) Highly recommend for children in Early Years / KS1. My 4 year old son also likes to follow along at home too - great way for him to keep active and off a screen"" - Rachel Smith, Surrey
