A comedy about love, food, and the emotional suicide of falling for someone who says amore mio to parking spaces.

Brittany Smith booked a one-way flight to Rome to escape a man in cargo shorts. She did not book it for Marco Esposito - a man who calls you amore mio on the first night, has opinions about every ingredient that has ever existed, and will shake your world in ways you never saw coming.

The moment you stop translating a different culture into your own, something extraordinary happens. You stop resisting. You start living.

You have never read Italy like this. It will make you laugh out loud. It will make you cry when you least expect it. It will make you want to book a flight to Italy and never come back.

Funny, specific, and genuinely romantic.

Reviews for How to Survive an Italian Boyfriend: An Accidental Guide to Italian Love, Food, and Emotional Survival

The most hilarious and italian cultural accurate I've read so far. Hilarious, punchy, genius. MUST READ I started reading How to Survive an Italian Boyfriend by Stefano Blackwood, expecting a light, romantic read but it turned out to be much more immersive than I anticipated. The story follows a girl who meets a boy from Naples and unexpectedly falls in love, and what really stood out to me was how vividly their relationship unfolds against the backdrop of the city. Naples itself feels like a character in the book. The descriptions are rich and atmospheric. I could almost hear the noise of the streets, smell the food, and see the coastline. It genuinely transported me there, which made the romance feel even more intense and real. The dynamic between the characters is engaging and at times emotional, capturing both the excitement and the challenges of falling for someone from a different culture. Overall, this was an enjoyable and evocative read. If you like romance with a strong sense of place and a touch of cultural insight, this book is definitely worth picking up. This was a great read. The book was written to deliver a lighthearted story that's culturally accurate and the characters was funny without trying too hard to be funny - it sure made me laugh.
