"""L. Charles Jackson's Holy Ground is a welcome and important reminder that as much as worship is a spiritual enterprise, it involves people who are embodied souls (or ensouled bodies depending on your anthropology), and so belief in Christian doctrines and zeal in Christian devotion cannot exist except for believers whose lives in this world depend on flesh and blood. For those who want to ponder the physical aspects of worship, Jackson's book is a helpful place to start."" --D. G. Hart, associate professor of history, Hillsdale College"
