The book covers stories and experiences from the worldwide Black community reflecting; achievements, failings, successes, racism, stoicism, energy, discrimination, determination and invention. Captured over the 366 days of the (leap) year, each day from January 1st through to December 31st reveals stories from the Black perspective. The narrative found in the pages of ""History Through the Black Experience"", over the two volumes, shines a light on the often, underrepresented, distorted, stereotyped, redacted and frequently ignored or omitted history experienced by Black society. The books are not about Black history, neither are they simply for the Black community to celebrate during Black History Month. ""History Through the Black Experience"" aims to be read by all groups sharing, learning and knowing about our past and present. All communities wish to stand tall on the world's stage. All groups wish to be seen, heard and understood. The Black community has a rich and varied past that informs and shapes our present and guides our future. It is a past that did not happen in isolation, as suggested by 'Black History'. The experiences were shared by the wider diverse communities, beyond one ethnic or cultural group. The Black body of work was affected by others and affected others becoming just one strand in the greater web of life. This is not Black history. This is our history, a history we all share.
