Mary Risk is the pseudonym for author Elizabeth Laird, an award-winning British writer of children's fiction and travel, known for her large body of folktales she compiled from Ethiopia's regions. Laird uses her pseudonym for TV and educational writing, including the TV adaptation of The Animals of Farthing Wood, in addition to several stories for children learning English as a foreign language. Rosa María Martín is the coordinator of language learning at the Language Centre and has organized courses in languages other than English at Queen Mary University of London since 1993. A native Spanish speaker, Rosa holds a BA in Romance Philology (Spanish and French) from the University of Zaragoza, Spain, and an MA in Language and Literature in Education/Modern Languages from the Institute of Education at the University of London. Rosa is a member of the Association of Language Learning and the UK Association of Language Advisors. She conducts courses and hosts talks for language teachers.
