Barbara J. Sowada is president of the board of trustees of a rural hospital. She has a Ph.D. in nutrition from Colorado State University. She lives in southwest Wyoming. This is her second book about healthcare reform.
""An unabashed review of the systemic fragmentation of the U.S. healthcare system that clearly brings light to the cracks institutionally designed to benefit the stakeholder while perpetuating disparities for the consumer. Dr. Sowada delivers a powerful call to examine the mental models that influence our nation's creation and consumption of healthcare with a compelling mandate to consider our common humanity for system redesign that supports the well-being of all. An essential read for those committed to restoring our shared agency in health at a critical juncture where compassion must guide system transformation."" - Samantha Baker, Clinical Assistant Professor, University of Wyoming, USA.
