He Refreshes My Soul is a beautifully crafted work that speaks directly to the heart. Rooted in the timeless wisdom of Psalm 23, Jeannie invites readers to slowly experience God's presence as a constant source of peace, strength and guidance. Each page feels like a gentle conversation with the Shepherd of which the psalm speaks. Jeannie's creative approach blends profound theological insight with the simplicity of heartfelt faith, accessible to both seasoned believers and those exploring the promises of Psalm 23 for the first time. Highly recommended for anyone looking to draw nearer to the heart of the Shepherd who cares for us all. She's only gone and done it again! He Refreshes My Soul is firmly in the stream of the creative, gentle and wise writing that we have been consistently blessed with through Jeannie's work. This book is beautifully written by an author with a wonderfully compassionate heart. Through accessible insights, deftly crafted prayers, insightful questions for reflection and engaging creative suggestions, He Refreshes My Soul opens up Psalm 23 in new and joyful ways. Perhaps most importantly, it has the gift of taking us by the hand and leading us gently towards the God who examines and protects us, welcomes us without condition, and leads us home. This is such a rich book . . . from the chapters on 'lacking nothing' and 'dark valleys' to the reflective questions and creative ideas - even the suggestions on how to organise a small reading group. It encourages us to be really honest and find food for our souls and strength for our journey. Jeannie's commitment to reading slowly, carefully and thoughtfully is something I love and practise. I have always liked Eugene Peterson's description of eating, chewing Scripture, where words come off the page and enter our lives breathing life into our souls. This is what Jeannie offers us.
