The transportation of hazardous materials is vital to our modern world. Thanks to hazmat, we have modern medicine, a robust food supply, technological advances like microchips, cleaning products to kill bacteria and viruses that can make us sick, and so much more.

As Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) professionals, what we do saves lives. Before starting her own consulting firm, Specialty Transportation and Regulatory Services, over 10 years ago, Wendy was a US DOT hazmat inspector, a firefighter, and a hazmat responder. She was also a compliance trainer and taught owners and employees from small businesses to Fortune 100 companies in a wide variety of sectors about domestic and international hazmat regulations. In addition, Wendy managed the North American regulatory compliance for a global laboratory supply company. As President & CEO of STARS Hazmat Consulting, Wendy is proud her staff has grown to a dozen full-time and part-time experts and specialized contractors to serve a broad client base in the hazmat industry. STARS' clients are companies from around the world that manufacture, store, use, or transport hazardous materials to, from, and through North America. Wendy is an Associate Professor for HazMat Transportation at the University of Findlay and a frequent public speaker. Most importantly, Wendy is a mom to four wonderful children. As I have read more of your manuscript, I am very impressed by your writing style and the way you have presented your material. From someone who doesn't know as much about your topic, I have been very engaged in what you have written and find it incredibly interesting. You do a phenomenal job at presenting information on a heavier topic in a way that is very clear and easy to follow. I have read a lot of materials that are dry or difficult to follow or that would probably make readers inclined to skim through parts. Yours is the opposite, and I really don't see that often.
