Neonatal care is a sub-specialty of nursing that is concerned with the care for newborn infants. Newborn infants can suffer from a wide range of problems such as prematurity, infections, birth defects, cardiac malformations and surgical problems. There are different levels of neonatal nursery; level 1, level 2, level 3 and level 4. Level 1 deals with the care of healthy newborns while level 2 consists of immediate care for ill newborns or premature. Level 3 provides special care for newborns that are in need of technological intervention. Level 4 treats newborns that are in complex and critical conditions, and need extensive care. This book unravels the recent studies in the field of neonatal care. It strives to provide a fair idea about this discipline and to help develop a better understanding of the latest advances within this field. This book will help new researchers by foregrounding their knowledge in this branch.
