Greek Mythology: Gods of Mount Olympus by Michael J. Defosse

Step into the world of the Olympian gods-the legendary figures who shaped the myths, laws, and imagination of Ancient Greece.

From the thunderbolts of Zeus to the cunning of Athena, the jealousy of Hera, and the storms of Poseidon, the Olympian pantheon was more than a collection of stories-it was the foundation of an entire civilization's values, rituals, and identity.

This book brings their tales to life through immersive storytelling, historical accuracy, and timeless themes. Blending mythic narrative with cultural insight, it explores the gods not only as powerful beings but as reflections of human nature-ambition, pride, love, betrayal, and destiny.

Inside, readers will discover:

- The rise of the twelve Olympian gods and their epic struggles.

- The story of the often-overlooked thirteenth Olympian who surrendered her throne.

- How myths shaped law, justice, and daily life in Ancient Greece.

- Legends of love, war, vengeance, and transformation that still resonate today.

- Striking black-and-white illustrations in the style of Michelangelo, created under artistic direction, that capture the grandeur of myth in a timeless classical style.

Whether you are new to Greek mythology or a lifelong enthusiast, this book offers both a captivating introduction and a fresh perspective on familiar tales. It invites readers to see mythology not only as ancient story but as a living legacy that continues to inspire art, literature, and culture across the world.

For fans of mythology, history, and epic storytelling, Gods of Mount Olympus is a definitive guide to the myths that shaped civilization itself.

Reviews for Greek Mythology God of Mount Olympus: Myths, Powers, and Legends That Shaped Ancient Greece

Greek Mythology: Gods of Mount Olympus is a vivid and accessible dive into the world of ancient Greece, where legends of Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, and others still echo through time. The book offers a clear yet engaging retelling of each god's origins, powers, and myths while also weaving in their cultural and historical significance. What I really appreciated was how it managed to balance storytelling with educational value-making it easy to read but also incredibly informative. I enjoyed how it gave me a deeper understanding of myths I thought I already knew, while also introducing me to lesser-told details that kept me turning the pages. I found this book quite educational. I enjoyed learning about the history of the Greek mythology and its origins as well as the history of mount Olympus. The Greek Gods were amazinging and well written as well as explained- the graphics were awesome. This is a book that I will definitely recommend and purchase as soon as it is released.
