Claire Balkind is a History Teacher and has worked in education since 2007. In March 2020, she set up the Facebook group 'Family Lockdown Tips & Ideas' which has an online community of over a million members worldwide. In June 2020, she was awarded the Prime Minister's Points of Light award, which recognises outstanding UK volunteers making a change in their community, for her work with the group. She lives in North London with her two daughters, husband and cat, Milo.
