Grandmaster Huang, Chien-Liang is a world-renowned martial artist and the 64th Generation Tien Shan Pai Grandmaster, a title bestowed upon him by his teacher, Supreme Master Wang Chueh-Jen, the 63rd Generation Grandmaster.
While this book was published to commemorate the 50 years that Grandmaster Huang has taught Chinese martial arts in the United States, it's also an example of how discipline, hard work, and perseverance enabled a humble, asthmatic boy raised in the Malaysian countryside to overcome all obstacles and become the great martial arts grandmaster he is today.
When Grandmaster Huang arrived in America to teach martial arts, he faced many setbacks, but he never let hardship or negativity from others keep him down. Instead, he continued to live by the Tien Shan Pai motto, with Virtue, Wisdom, Humility, and Martial Arts. Not only was he able to build the foundation for generations of Tien Shan Pai practitioners to come, he also helped formally establish and promote Chinese martial arts in the United States and worldwide through the founding of the U.S. Kuo Shu Federation, The World Kuo Shu Federation, and the International Tien Shan Pai Association, which his son Master Michael Huang now leads. These organizations brought martial arts masters together from around the world to ensure the continuity of the arts.
