Amy Shumin Chen is Professor at the Center for General Education, Tatung University. She was visiting scholar at the Institute of Social Change at the University of Berkeley. She acts as the Secretary-General of ‘the Taiwan Association for Sociology of Education’ and ‘the Taiwan Professional and Organization Development Network in Higher Education’. She also serves on editorial committees of the Journal of Global Citizenship Education’ and the Taiwan Journal of Sociology of Education. Her primary research focuses on citizenship, social stratification, globalization, multiculturalism, and higher education. She has solid research experiences in qualitative as well as quantitative approaches which engage both in the local and national issues and surveys.
