Gender Equality and Prayer in Jewish Law offers a comprehensive study of the halakhic literature on the intersection of the value of gender equality with traditional Jewish communal prayer. It cuts through polemics and apologetics to present a source-based analysis, making it essential reading for communities and decision-makers seeking a deeper basis for their choices and practices.

Now in an updated edition, including Rabbi Tucker's pathbreaking essay ""Category Shifts in Jewish Law and Practice,"" Gender Equality and Prayer in Jewish Law is a model for serious halakhic thought and discussion on sensitive issues in a contemporary world.
