""Two key challenges arise in ministering to North Korean defectors. First, South Korean Christians struggle to adapt to the shifting realities of defection. Second, a deeper issue concerns how those raised under Juche ideology and Kimilsungism experience conversion to Christianity. Dr. Keum explores both in her research, offering valuable insights for engaging North Koreans with the Gospel and equipping those involved in this ministry."" --Ben Torrey, Director, The Fourth River Project, Inc., Korea ""In this insightful study, Dr. Keum explores the spiritual journey of North Korean defectors in their transition from Juche ideology to a biblical worldview. By unveiling the factors of their challenges and overcoming them in internalizing God's Word, the work offers profound understanding and practical guidance for fostering discipleship and transformative faith. This book significantly contributes to those invested in the spiritual growth of North Korean believers and the church's mission."" --Eiko Takamizawa, Mongol Kids' Home, Japan ""Dr. Keum provides a rare, insider's look into the lives of North Korean Christian defectors. Through firsthand accounts, we see their disillusionment with failed ideologies and the North Korean regime, as well as the supernatural ways God gave them hope and purpose--some even returning despite the risk of persecution and death. Her research reveals that God's witness is present even within North Korea, where many encountered the gospel before defecting. I highly endorse this study for its deep insights into North Korean lives and its relevance for future ministry."" --Jamie Kim, Director, Reah International, USA ""Dr. Keum presents a significant theoretical framework of worldview change. Her study shows how grounded theory can construct a paradigm and theory using only inductive data analysis. This book will be a valuable resource to those who want to study the worldview change of any people group."" --Chang Sup Kang, Professor, Grace Mission University, USA ""Dr. Keum has long held a deep compassion for North Korean defectors, dedicating herself to both their ministry and academic research. Her work focuses on the transformative power of the gospel in reshaping their worldview--guiding them from the depths of one of the darkest regimes on earth into the marvelous light of God's kingdom. This insightful study not only sheds light on their journey but also serves as a valuable resource for future research and ministry. May this book illuminate the hearts of its readers and inspire deeper engagement with this crucial mission!"" --Hyung Jin Park, Professor, Torch Trinity Graduate University, South Korea
