Vocationally, it covers the waterfront from student to assistant professor, from field engineer to vice-president, and from author to Program Manager. He was on the ground for the momentous Good Friday earthquake in Anchorage in 1964 and in Islamabad for the assassination of President Zia-ul-Haq in 1988. Along the way he enjoyed a six decade plus marriage to Durelle, raised two kids, had four grandkids, college graduates all; and now has three great-grandkids.

Frank Cloutier had an idyllic childhood in the 1940's in rural, north-central Massachusetts and a very non-idyllic plebe year in 1956 at West Point. Somewhat unusually he was commissioned in the Air Force in 1960. He retired from the Air Force in 1980 and then worked in a variety of positions at Sanders Associates, Hazeltine Corporation, Fairchild Corporation and Lockheed. He retired at age 58 and then proceeded to add several hundred thousand miles to their already large total of RVing miles. In addition to his undergraduate degree from West Point, he has earned an MS in Engineering Management from the University of Alaska and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He and Durelle live near Charleston, SC.
