An increasing number of people, in the USA and internationally, want to break free from the corporate grind and have a little place in the countryside, but they can't seem to conquer their fears or know what steps to take first to accomplish that goal. Everyone desires a healthy work/life balance and quality of life, but few have it. Most people have trouble saying no more when pressured, or they look for approval from others before pursuing any personal dream. Most people spend too much of their hard-earned money, are buried in debt, have no money in savings and feel trapped in a job that causes incredible stress. Sometimes a big picture overview, a breakdown of steps to take, and a little encouragement can help us make informed decisions for sudden or gradual change.

You are invited to share our journey, discover the benefit of getting rid of debt, the idea of homesteading, explore various forest escape options and begin to trust God in every step forward. A chosen path is one God lays out for you and you decide to choose to follow it. It has to be a deliberate decision. This lifestyle choice won't happen by accident. In nature, we withdraw from society and become closer to our Heavenly Father.

The interior has many photographs showing land, phases of building and development, drawings of plans, diagrams and graphics. This book walks you through a decision-making process choosing a lifestyle change that simplifies, reduces debt and compares options that are available for homesteading.

We prayed and God revealed a path to follow. We chose to say no more regarding the stress, corruption, stress, high taxes and fast-paced life in New York State. When life becomes too unbearable, we have to make a deliberate choice for change in our lives. This relaxed, conversational-style book was written so you can benefit from our experience making hard choices, selling everything, leaving family behind, building a cabin in Kentucky, and starting to live off the land in a secluded forest, with no running water.

The interior has many photographs showing land, phases of building and development, drawings of plans, diagrams and graphics. This book walks you through a decision-making process choosing a lifestyle change

that simplifies, reduces debt and compares options that are available for homesteading.

We chose this path we are following, and it was with God's blessing that we have such a wonderful story to share. From our family to yours, we hope to encourage you to step out in faith, and trust our Heavenly Father, to discover His chosen path for your life!

"As the owner of MediaTek Grafx, a full-service advertising agency started in 2001, Wendy Nelson was a workaholic for over 30 years, functioning with only four hours of sleep per night. Before she finally broke free from the corporate grind, she worked with various businesses, churches, utilities, counterterrorism efforts, schools, and organizations. As a web developer and writer, Wendy maintains her first labor of love, the Christian web site, Faithful Watchmen dot com. In 2014, Wendy began writing and publishing Christian books, for children and adults, through MediaTek Grafx. She co-authored Wandering through Life: A Hope for Neighbors Christian Gift Book with her best friend. Wendy is the author of the God Really Loves You Book Series(TM) of six Christian children's books to date. She wrote and published Always Remember God Answers Prayer, The ""Daily, But Different"" Christian Prayer Journal. Working as a teacher in various capacities, Wendy worked with a youth group and a technical institute to promote self-employment and business ethics, and is currently teaching communication skills internationally. Wendy has been married to David for 44 years. Throughout their marriage, they often said that they would like to build a little cabin on 30 acres of land, and to escape to the hills of Kentucky. They wanted to live a balanced life, get their priorities straight, and to be able to live self-sufficiently, away from the decline of society. God put them on a path that led to an Amish man with 43 acres of land for sale - and that land was in Kentucky! It was no accident. This was God's plan for their lives. The adventure began when they started building the cabin in the middle of the forest, without water. The forest escape became real. Wendy and her retired husband are learning as they go, building a sustainable life and homestead, so they can live entirely off the land in the future. They have two married sons, two daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren. Wendy is semi-retired."
