Not all shivah houses are the same. Expressing one's feelings at a shivah is not easy for most people. Participating in the age-old Minchah and Maariv prayer services enables those present to speak with G-d. The new readings found interspersed throughout For Those Who Grieve enable those present to speak among themselves.

Rabbi Shawn B. Zell, a native of Winnipeg, Canada, possesses a master's degree in Jewish Education as well as two separate rabbinic ordinations and certification in counseling.
