PD The author states her goal is to expose the reader to a variety of ways to incorporate flowers into your life. Her beautiful pressed flower/pen and ink drawings encourage the reader to awaken their own creativity and stimulate cognitive, physical and mental health along the way. She offers easy to follow examples of pressed flower arranging and you learn about the meaning of flowers, their specific colors, the symbolism and how their color and shape can evoke emotions. I came away with a greater appreciation of the value of growing flowers, pressing them and arranging them for their intrinsic beauty, color and feeling of joy they bring to the mind and heart. And if you don't already know you too can learn about tussie-mussies! ML 5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully illustrated Flowering Your Mind is a delightful book. The Author shares insights about how flowers can impact your life in a positive way. It is not specifically a 'how-to book, but it does show how using creativity can sharpen your mind and provide healing. The book is based on scientific principles but its emphasis on symbols and color make it a great read! BBL 5.0 out of 5 stars An Exciting New Way to Link Brain Health, Art and Flowers Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2021 I love this book! The illustrations are amazing, and the flower-brain connection is inspiring. Oshibana may just become a household word in the U.S. if the author's way to find balance and reduce stress catches on. Suzanne Faith has the credentials to pull cognitive science together with her art in an innovative way. I like the instructions on how to create pressed flower art, but there is so much more to read and learn in this upbeat, creative book. I won't read it just once. This one's a pleasant reference for the bookshelf!
