Muhammad Arslan (also known as Dr Arslan) is a dedicated academic and active researcher, currently serving as a senior lecturer (associate professor) of accounting and finance at the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand. Holding a PhD from Lincoln University, New Zealand, he specialises in corporate governance, financial reporting, and emerging financial technologies. He is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and holds full membership in CPA Australia. He also has certifications in Xero Advisor and Payroll. Arslan is the recipient of the dean’s award for his PhD thesis from Lincoln University, New Zealand, and has also received two Emerald Literati Awards for “Highly Commended Paper.” He has also completed the New Zealand Certification in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (NZCATT) to develop his pedagogical skills further. With over 12 years of experience in higher education across New Zealand, China, Kazakhstan, the UAE, Mexico, and beyond, Arslan has taught and developed courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has instructed diverse cohorts of students across face-to-face, blended, and online platforms. He also gave seminars and guest lectures at universities in Russia and Colombia. He employs active learning, experiential learning, and learner-centred approaches. His teaching portfolio includes a wide array of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including but not limited to Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Introduction to Accounting and Taxation, Analysis of Financial Information, Business Research Methods, Advanced Corporate Finance, Advanced Financial Management, Corporate Finance, Principles of Finance, Corporate Reporting, Financial Reporting and Management Control, Quantitative Methods, Portfolio Management & Behavioural Finance, International Finance, Financial Statement Analysis and Reporting, and Financial Management. A prolific researcher, Arslan has established an international reputation with over 35 publications, including 26+ Scopus-indexed publications (14 Web of Science (WoS) with papers featured in SSCI, SCIE, ESCI, ABS, ABDC, and Q1/Q2). His contributions include six book chapters (five Scopus-indexed) and presentations at leading international conferences such as the Academy of Management (AOM), the International Conference of the Journal of International Accounting Research, the Annual New Zealand Finance Colloquium, and the ICGS Conference, among others. Arslan holds prominent editorial roles, serving as an Academic Editor at PLOS One (eISSN: 1932-6203), Guest Editor for the Journal of Risk and Financial Management (ISSN: 1911-8074), and Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Business and Management (eISSN: 2815-9330). Additionally, he examines the funding applications and research articles for other leading journals in his field. He is a certified peer reviewer and mentor through Publons Academy and Web of Science (WOS) Clarivate. His standing as a globally recognised specialist and the cumulative influence of his work is reflected in an overall h-index of 16 and an i-index of 20 (Google). His research work has received over 970 citations (Google). He is an efficient, well-organised, and responsible scholar who understands how to get things done. A committed mentor, Arslan has already supervised several master's and PhD students. He regularly examines theses for several educational institutes. Beyond academia, Arslan has engaged in industry consultancy, working as a business advisor and contributing to EFMD Global accreditation efforts for KIMEP University’s BFIN program. He is open to funding opportunities, visiting positions, research collaboration, and supervision. Alimshan Faizulayev is an Associate Professor and Research Director in the Bang College of Business (BCB) at KIMEP University, Kazakhstan. His research interests include but not limited to financial technology in conventional and Islamic banking, blockchain technology, machine learning, and energy economics. He has published several papers in international journals.
