Guided by the Muse, unrivaled author Henry Henry must save us from the terrors of the Fearscape. To spite the Muse, shameless plagiarist Henry Henry will damn us to our worst fears. Where lies the truth? Join us, dear reader, if you dare.

OUR GREATEST STORYTELLER (IS A LIAR)—OUR WORST FEARS (ARE TRUE.)

The Fearscape is a world beyond our own, populated by manifestations of our worst fears. Once per generation, The Muse travels to Earth, discovers our greatest Storyteller, and takes them with her to the Fearscape to battle these fear-creatures on our behalf. All has been well for eons, until The Muse encounters Henry Henry—a plagiarist with delusions of literary grandeur. Mistaking him for our greatest Storyteller, she ushers him into the Fearscape. Doom follows.

Reviews for Fearscape Vol 1 (GN)

Wow. Fuck you guys. Ryan O'Sullivan and Andrea Mutti, I know you see me, and yet I will stand over your graves. FEARSCAPE is an evil and really very good comic. It is so comedically archly self-aware, its tongue is so far in its cheek it's practically licking its own eyeball from the inside. I really enjoyed it. -Warren Ellis (Transmetropolitan, Planetary, Injection) Prrrrrobably wouldn't have chosen Wow. Fuck you guys as the pullquote there. -Warren Ellis (Transmetropolitan, Planetary, Injection) I loved it - about writing, writers and the lies the latter tell themselves in order to do the former. -Charles Soule (She-Hulk, Star Wars, The Oracle Year) I was sold from Page One; a gut punch from the outset but also tapping into things that have been on my mind for a long time. Bold, true #comics right here! -Steve Orlando (Batman, Supergirl, Midnighter) Really good! A haunting story about the delicate balance between a writer's ego and insecurities played out in a fantasy netherworld. -Mark Russel (The Flintstones, Snagglepuss, Prez) Painfully hilarious writer-and-creativity black comedy. Writer protagonists are the most dangerous of tropes. The only way to make it work is to skewer them. FEARSCAPE skewers them in such a dedicated way it's a little like a torture chamber with a laugh track. I applaud and laugh and wince and cheer. -Kieron Gillen (The Wicked + The Divine, Young Avengers, Star Wars)
