The authors of Fat Quarterly, the wildly popular ezine on quilting, share the secrets of their quilting success in a collection of 60 quilt blocks and 12 quilts and projects, with a helpful introduction and coverage of basic techniques. Each chapter offers 10 colorful quilt blocks, instructions for a full-size quilt and a smaller project, plus all the necessary templates. Both a trusted guide and an inspirational workshop, this is a perfect resource for all quilters, especially members of traditional and online quilting bees.

Fat Quarterly is a quarterly ezine written largely by a group of four authors: John Adams lives in Cary, NC; Katy Jones and Brioni Greenberg live in West Yorkshire, England; and Natasha Bruecher lives in Berlin, Germany. While each member of the group has a personal blog, they all work to maintain a popular site and blog for their ezine, both with a vibrant online community, and over 35,000 visits to their blog per month. They are each very active in the online quilt community, participate in functions of the Modern Quilt Guild, and regularly attend Quilt Market/Festivals as well as other international quilting shows.

Reviews for Fat Quarterly Shape Workshop for Quilters: 60 Blocks + a Dozen Quilts and Projects!

The online magazine Fat Quarterly (FQ) is at the foreground of the booming modern quilting movement, and this first book from the publication's editorial team is a treat for quilters of all tastes. FQ's vision of modern quilting is about more than taking traditional blocks and making them wonky--it involves everything from fabric choice to design to the quilting itself. Organized by shapes, the book includes everything from simple squares and rectangles to elaborate polygons. VERDICT: The pieces range from full-size quilts to small projects to help quilters get their feet wet, and the projects are plentiful. An excellent purchase. --Library Journal
