Experimental Nuclear Reactor Analysis: Theory, Numerical Models and Experimental Analysis presents a consolidated resource on reactor analysis, comprising theoretical concepts of reactor physics, dynamics and thermal-hydraulics. Sections cover various theoretical aspects required for the development of a computational model and experimental activities such as nuclear reactor physics, dynamics and control, and nuclear thermal hydraulics. They then apply these aspects to develop computational tools for modeling the thermal-hydraulic and neutronic behavior of reactors and explore experiments designed to verify results. This book serves as a complete guide, providing important theoretical background followed by more advanced exploration and analysis of experimental procedures and applications.

Where readers do not have access to a test facility, the knowledge and practical understanding obtained from this book will ensure they are equipped with a very detailed insight and understanding of experimental reactor analysis that is ready to apply to their own research and professional projects.

Antonio Cammi is an Associate Professor of Nuclear Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. Over the past two decades, he has taught different courses, including Nuclear Plants, Control and Safety in Nuclear Plants, Dynamics and Control of Nuclear Plants, Experimental Nuclear Reactor Kinetics, and, more recently, Fission Reactor Physics. His research primarily focuses on developing innovative designs for nuclear systems and components (ADS, IRIS, ELSY, CFR, ALFRED, MSFR, DEMO), creating new control strategies for power plants, and advancing methods and techniques (multi-physics modelling, reduced-order modeling, object-oriented simulators) for analyzing next-generation nuclear reactors (both fission and fusion). Antonio Cammi has actively participated in various European research programs and co-authored over 300 publications. Stefano Lorenzi is a senior researcher and assistant professor in Nuclear Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. He is lecturer of “Experimental Nuclear Reactor Kinetics” and “Integration of Nuclear and Renewable Energy for Carbon Neutral Scenarios” courses. His research expertise includes control-oriented simulation of Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs), control scheme investigation for NPPs, multiphysics and reduced order modelling, nuclear hybrid systems and integration with cogenerative applications. He participated and is participating in different European research projects on Lead-cooled Fast Reactors (LEADER and PASCAL Projects), Molten Salt Reactors (SAMOFAR and SAMOSAFER projects), Small Modular Reactors (ELSMOR and TANDEM projects) analysis and development. He is the author of more than 70 international papers.
