Description of ""Expanding the Immersive Landscape in Leisure Facilities""Location-based immersive entertainment involving emerging technologies is undergoing a major transformation from essentially a startup phase to a better defined stage. This book highlights the more robust infrastructure emerging to support that development, as greater key elements converge.

The book explores the whole spectrum of location-based immersive entertainment forms, including immersive art, escape games, immersive live theater, immersive rides, dome theaters, virtual reality/mixed reality games and attractions, and immersive drone games and shows. It explores new and expanded environments for immersive entertainment, including innovative aquatic and underwater immersive experiences.

Location-based immersive entertainment is becoming more variegated, organic, holistic, and deeper, as experimentation reaches a higher level. Major centers of location-based immersive entertainment are enhancing and bolstering their offerings, such as Area 15 and Meow Wolf's immersive centers. Immersive entertainment districts have actually sprouted up around the globe. New forms of location-based immersive experiences have appeared on the scene, and could develop into significant businesses in the near future, such as immersive wellness. A greater range of leisure facilities have introduced and expanded immersive entertainment experiences using emerging technologies, such as cruise ships. The book highlights the increasing impact of immersive branded attractions, such as the Squid Game Experience. Special attention is also devoted in the book to the greater role of AI in immersive location-based entertainment. Immersive entertainment centers have also increasingly blended high-tech immersive experiences with more traditional interactive entertainment, such as classic arcade games.

As the book underlines, hybrid forms of location-based immersive entertainment have become more prominent, blending not only physical and virtual experiences, but also fusing diverse content genres, such as escape games and immersive live theater. Multifaceted immersive projects encompassing a combination of such immersive technologies as VR, mixed reality, 3D projection mapping, and laser tag, have become more common. Location-based immersive entertainment is placing greater stress on live interactive entertainment and centering more around social interaction. The book also spotlights emerging technologies that are likely to play a greater role in the future of location-based immersive entertainment, including drones and haptic technology.

Ambient interactivity has become a more important element in location-based immersive entertainment. For example, certain immersive art experiences have been integrated more in natural environments. Location-based immersive entertainment has clearly become a central factor in experiential entertainment.

Location-based immersive entertainment has clearly become a central factor in experiential entertainment. Indeed, as the book's title suggests, the immersive landscape in leisure facilities is expanding considerably, and offering greater opportunities for creativity, user interaction, technological innovation, and market success.
