C.S. Stahlman served as an officer in the US Army during the Cold War, reaching the rank of Major before leaving service. This period is documented in this book, FM 18-66. FM is the Army abbreviation for Field Manual. 18-66 indicates his age when he started Army training, and 66 his current age. He later worked as a Technical Instructor, an Investment Representative, and after leaving the financial sector, he returned to the computer industry at Software Spectrum and then Microsoft Inc. His other work includes ""Noun Hear This!"", a companion German grammar book that focuses on nouns. Robert Twigger is himself a British author known for his adventurous and humorous writing.
