Dr. Hesham Al-Momani , PhD, is an Associate Professor and chairman, of the Industrial Engineering Department, The Hashemite University, a retired Brigadier General from the Royal Jordanian Air Force with extensive academic qualifications and professional experience. He holds a Ph.D. in system science and Industrial Engineering with distinction from Binghamton University, New York (USA) in 2015, as well as Master's degrees in Management Sciences and Business Administration from Central Michigan University (USA), and a Master's degree in Aeronautics (focusing on Human Factors in Aviation) from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (USA) in 2006 and 2007, respectively. Additionally, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from the Jordan University of Science and Technology)1988), and leadership/Staff diploma certifications from the Joint Services Command and Staff College (UK)(1998) and the Jordan Command and Staff diploma from Command and Staff School Jordan (1996). Dr. Al Momani has a wealth of technical expertise and rare certifications, including Black and Green Belt certifications in Six Sigma from General Electric (Cincinnati, USA)(2006), and qualifications in Project Management, Quality Management, and various global aviation licenses, including from the FAA (USA) and CAA (Jordan)(2008). Dr. Hesham Al-Momani, PhD, is a distinguished academic and researcher in healthcare systems engineering. With extensive experience in industrial engineering education, he has integrated healthcare-focused courses into the 2021 bachelor's degree plan for Industrial Engineering. His commitment to advancing healthcare education further exemplifies his ongoing efforts to establish a master's degree program in Healthcare Systems Engineering. Dr. Al-Momani has a robust research portfolio and serves as a supervisor for numerous theses in healthcare systems engineering, contributing to the development of innovative solutions and methodologies in the field. His experience spans over 35 years in senior managerial and leadership roles, with expertise in technical and engineering organizations, communications, higher education, project management, dispute resolution, finance, budgeting, and time management. Since 2016, Dr. Al Momani has served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Hashemite University, where he has been instrumental in establishing and coordinating the Master’s Program in Crisis and Disaster Management, the only program of its kind in the Middle East. He also teaches in the Master’s Program in Maintenance Management and supervises the ABET of the accreditation program and processes (Council of ABET Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology Engineering and Technology in the Department of Industrial Engineering. Before his academic career, Dr. Al Momani worked as a faculty member, research assistant, and teaching associate at Binghamton University (USA), and held various senior roles in the Royal Jordanian Air Force, including Liaison Officer and Supervisor of the U.S. Military Assistance Program for Jordan at the Air Force Security Assistance Center Security Assistance and Cooperation (AFSAC) OH/USA. His teaching experience includes a wide range of courses in industrial engineering, systems engineering, crisis and disaster management, project management, and maintenance management. He has developed and taught 27 courses related to these fields, including specialized topics like risk management, Six Sigma, quality control, human factor engineering, and supply chain management. Dr. Al Momani’s key achievements include: 1. Coordination of postgraduate programs, including the Master’s programs in Crisis Management, Disaster Management, and Maintenance Management. 2. Strong analytical skills in systems engineering, statistical analysis, and industrial intelligence. 3. Extensive expertise in industrial engineering, particularly in quality, manufacturing, and production processes. 4. Leadership in obtaining ABET accreditation for the Department of Industrial Engineering. 5. Experience as Associate Dean and Head of the Engineering Department at Prince Faisal Technical College, part of Balqa Applied University. 6. Expertise in human factors and safety management. 7. Certification in Six Sigma Black and Green Belts from General Electric, USA. 8. Specialized knowledge in business management, project management, procurement, supply chain management, and financial cost analysis. 9. Extensive experience in aviation systems, including aircraft assembly, maintenance management, and engineering analysis, supported by global aviation licenses. 10. Leadership in high-tech projects, including assembling the Hughes MD500 helicopter for the first time in Jordan. 11. Expertise in U.S. and Foreign Military Security Assistance Programs. 12. Research in human factors and systems engineering, developing models and standards to improve quality and reliability in various professional fields. 13. Experience in financial and operational management, including budgeting, project management, and community engagement. 14. Research activities at the doctoral level focused on advancing comprehensive models in project management and quality assurance. Dr. Al Momani's professional career has been marked by a deep understanding of both technical and managerial domains, along with leadership that has significantly contributed to both academic and practical advancements in crisis management, industrial engineering, and aviation systems.
