Reviews for Essentials of Domestic Animal Embryology

-However, this work remains an excellent reference & study handbook for which many embryologists and veterinary students have waited so long since the book by Noden and de Lahunta went out of press. More than the work of McGeady et al., the Essentials of Domestic Animal Embryology by Hyttel et al. is a worthy successor of the latter. It is contemporary in all fields: its approach of the subject, its style and volume, the language, the huge amount of illustrations... and I'm sure it will serve as a reference handbook for many years.- Pieter Cornillie Lecturer in Veterinary Embryology at Ghent University May 2010 -The quality of illustrations in the book is outstanding, ranging from simple diagrammatic drawings to full-colour histology slides and photographs of embryos and fetuses...Each chapter is clearly written and successfully combines basic information, which would be necessary if one had no prior knowledge of the chapter's topic, with detailed, up-to-date information of interest to those for whom the topic familiar...The authors have drawn widely on illustrations and contributions to the textprovided by colleagues with expertise in different areas, and the result is a beautifully illstrated, comprehensive book, which is surprisingly small in size and modest in price. It will be not only of use but also a joy to browse for everyone from first-year veterinary students to embryologists and reproductive specialists.- Vet Record, March 2012
