The slogan ""Healthy Women, Healthy World"" reflects the fact that, as custodians of family health, women play a critical role in maintaining the well-being of their communities (Blumel et al., 2000). Physical activity encompasses all types of body movement, from the simplest to the most complex. It may be voluntary, including structured and planned activities aimed at improving specific aspects of physical fitness or energy expenditure, or it may be part of daily life activities, such as walking, household chores, occupational tasks, or transportation. Physical activity can also be spontaneous and involuntary, ranging from minor movements like blinking to full-body muscle contractions associated with posture and mobility. However, it is often difficult to separate and quantify these different domains, which is why they are frequently considered together (Teixeira et al., 2006). Regular physical activity has been shown to reduce the risk of premature death and prevent the development of numerous chronic diseases (Warburton, Nicol, & Bredin, 2006).
