Never interested in learning Persian, Mona Kiani was a Farsi School dropout. Resisting the persistent nag of her Persian parents, she evaded learning Persian despite her parents insistence. Fast forward a two decades. She's pregnant with her son. Realising she cant read and write Persian! She searches the recesses of the internet looking to find bilingual resources to help facilitate her sons learning. Her search was in vain. NOTHING. Englisi Farsi was born out of necessity. An Iranian Australian mother set on embracing her rich Persian heritage. Created with love for the Iranian diaspora; these books are designed to make learning Persian fun, interactive and relevant for the needs of mixed Iranian families today. Covering a wide variety of topics, they are an ideal platform to engage & inspire young minds. To nurture bilingual language development with a little [Kuchulu] help from the English alphabet. Persian. Pass it on. Born in Aliabad, Nouran was raised in her home town with her 4 siblings until she was old enough to attend school. Her love for her family, her hometown are only paralleled by her love and dedication to her Faith (The Baha'i Faith). Nouran Pioneered to Taiwan and bore two children speaking to them in Persian, Mandarin and English (she was an English teacher at a local Taiwanese University). Leaving her beloved Taiwan due to work commitments, saw her resettle to live in Perth, Western Australia. Here she had her 3rd and final child in the local hospital on a Sunday afternoon. Nouran is a dedicated community builder, loving wife, mother & grandmother. She speaks fluent Persian, Mandarin & English (questionable English if you ask any of her three children). She is loved by all who cross her path due to her selfless and giving nature. She has endured many challenges in life and she overcomes them with her radiant and loving acquiescence. Her joy is an inspiration to us all. Bio written by her biased awe inspired daughter.

Reviews for Under the Sea / Zire Darya (English / Persian)

"""I HIGHLY recommend these AWESOME new books! If you know anyone who is speaking Persian to their children or wants them to learn Persian words but cannot read in Persian, this series solves their problem! There are so many reasons I love these books: 1) Persian/English/and Finglisi (complete with pronunciations!) 2) Beautiful illustrations 3) Great for beginning readers-simple text. 4) There's an app to help with pronunciation. 5) Useful website with a wealth of information for parents of Persian language learners. 6) A book about virtues...I've been looking for that for years and so grateful to have finally found one...in Persian! 7) Attention to detail...very well done!"" Jayron Finan CEO Persian Preschool ""The best Persian language resource for bilingual children! Even I am learning from them! These books were clearly made with a lot of love.I pulled them out this week and not only was our daughter fascinated, but I am adding to my own vocabulary too."" Verified Buyer Lilly G. ""These books are fun and unique. I can never seem to find other Persian books that provide the same easy to learn qualities without feeling overwhelmed with information,"" Shahs of Sunset Adam Farahan ""Finglisi, now thats my style of talking! If you are someone who is trying to learn, married to someone who speaks Farsi, it's not just for kids! You can phonetically put the words together. It is very easy for someone who doesn't speak Persian. I loved that you did this. I have searched for a while! This is Brilliant!"" TV News Anchor Shally Zomorodi ""When the Englisi Farsi virtues book was gifted to us, it rapidly became my 2 year old daughter's favourite book - so much so that we bought more from the series just to add a bit of variety to our night-time reads again (no matter how many library books / other books we had, she *always* requested 'sefate pasandideh Mum!!""). We've since downloaded some books to our phones so that we have easy access on the go - and it's amazing how quickly she learns words using the electronic version! Everyone is delighted when my daughter proudly shows them her special books, and we often find they then spark natural and easy conversation between several generations of family - no easy feat! These books are such great tools for teaching children farsi, and if you're not a native speaker like myself, for also learning some yourself. Thanks so much for such a wonderful resource Mona! Keep it up please!!"" Corrine Mirk ""What I most love about these gorgeous books is that it has the Farsi alphabet and the pronunciation in written in English so my English speaking hubby can read the books to our kids as well. It's a book for all ages. But the best part of it all is that I get to spend precious time with my family while keeping the Persian tradition alive. Thank you for one of the best gifts ever you have given me!"" Nas White"
