Embroidered Treasures

This a very informative and beautifully illustrated book. It covers a wide variety of styles of embroidery, describing embroidery from 16th century to modern times. This is a beautiful book which allows the reader to explore a corner of the Embroiders' Guild collection based around the theme of animals. An excellent resource for anyone studying or researching textiles while also a collection of beautiful items to look at for the more relaxed reader. The range of methods and techniques in which the pieces on a theme have been created seems endless and is sure to provide inspiration for it's readers. The photography is clear and you almost want to touch the work. Where pieces are larger, close up photographs have been added to demonstrate the detail. This book does not teach the reader any techniques but does give a clear description of each piece.
