Cultural mediation in translation covers the complex ways translators navigate meaning across linguistic and cultural boundaries. Translation interprets cultural references, social norms, values, and worldviews embedded in a text, and reshapes them for new audiences without erasing their original significance. This process requires sensitive negotiation between accuracy to the source's culture and accessibility for the new demographic, highlighting the translator's role as both mediator and creator. As global communication increases, understanding these dynamics is essential for appreciating how translation shapes intercultural understanding, influences representation, and contributes to the circulation of ideas across societies. Dynamics of Cultural Mediation in Translation explores how translators negotiate cultural meanings, values, and context when transferring a text from one language into another. It examines the strategies, challenges, and decisions involved in preserving cultural authenticity while ensuring clarity and resonance for the target audience. This book covers topics such as digital technology, translanguaging, and children's literature, and is a useful resource for educators, media and communications professionals, sociologists, academicians, researchers, and scientists.
