A description of models and algorithms that are capable of performing face recognition in a dynamic setting. The key question is how to design computer-vision and machine-learning algorithms that can operate robustly and quickly under poorly-controlled and changing conditions. Consideration of face recognition as a problem in dynamic vision is perhaps both novel and important. The algorithms described have numerous potential applications in areas such as visual surveillance, verification, access control, video-conferencing, multimedia and visually-mediated interaction.

Reviews for Dynamic Vision: From Images To Face Recognition

Dynamic Vision is a unique book. To my knowledge, there is no comparable book that covers the broad and complex domain of adaptive visual recognition in such a readable way. The clear presentation style helps the reader to appreciate the painstaking work involved in making the automatic recognition of faces possible - the authors were successful in providing 'a coherent and unified treatment of the issue from a computational and systems perspective' and highly recommend the book to any researcher interested in face recognition or visual recognition in general.
