Reviews for Drug Calculations for Nurses: Context for Practice

'An invaluable resource and aide-memoire for both pre- and post- registration nurses which, unlike most other similar books available, uses practical, relevant and meaningful examples. Kerri has skilfully applied her nursing knowledge and experience to deal with real medicines, dosages and drug administration practices in a reassuring and enjoyable manner. This book concentrates on drug calculations in the actual context of the nurse's role, and is backed up with superb practice and assessment explanations and examples. Practitioners with different levels of confidence can develop their skills of accurate drug administration through worked examples, graded exercises and problems (with answers) to aid self-development and essential competencies. The ideal handbook for all staff who are involved in any aspect of drug administration.' - Philip D Marini, Numeracy Support, Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, UK 'I welcome this excellent book. It has clear and valuable lessons as to how numeracy can be successfully learned in the context of a professional practice.' - Professor Celia Hoyle OBE, Professor of Mathematics Education and Government Chief Advisor for Maths Education, Institute of Education, UK
