This book focus on the disease-resistant breeding of melon. It delves into aspects including melon powdery mildew resistance, edible seed watermelon germplasm resistance to multiple, diseases and thermal-sensitive watermelon alien hybridization features. Studies conducted the powdery mildew resistance assessment of diverse melon materials, identifying that the pathogen in Changji area melon powdery mildew is Oidium spp. f. sp. Cucurbitacearum race 1, with 14 resistant materials found. Systematic evaluation of Edible Seed Watermelon germplasm for seedling-stage Fus wiltarium, powdery mildew, and bacterial fruit blotch resistance unveiled resistance differences among germplasms and picked out resistant ones. Also, phenotypic traits of thermal-sensitive watermelon and cultivated watermelon hybrids were observed. These studies offer scientific backing and rich germplasm for disease breeding-resistant watermelon and melon varieties.
